It all began in 1924 when the Swellen family transformed the beautiful and typically 18th century provencal manor into an elegant hotel. The family ran the hotel up to 2014, when they sold it to Esprit de France, who did not wish the hotel to lose the unique sense of place and spirit which had made it so successful.
Paul Cézanne loved to wander around the grounds with his easel to paint the Sainte Victoire mountain in the distance from different angles. We welcome guests from near and far to our magnificent gardens next to Aix-en-Provence town centre to enjoy the pleasures of simple, authentic and casual luxury with us.
The enchanting gardens to stroll around which form a haven of peace, edged with century-old chestnut trees and include a rose garden bursting with every colour imaginable. Take the time to sit in the shade of a pine tree or by the edge of the pool while enjoying a drink, a book or simply relax to the gentle lapping of the numerous water features.
